Coaches, Trainers, Referees Required to Check Daily
All SPFSA personnel are reminded that all full-sided and small-sided goal frames must be anchored to the ground for safety purposes. Goal frames on natural grass fields are equipped w/ ground stakes tethered to the frame while those on synthetic turf are anchored w/ sand bags. Games and practices should not proceed until the proper anchoring of the goals is confirmed.
Thunder & Lightning Warrants Immediate Shutdown
Coaches, players and parents are reminded that the first sign of thunder or lightning mandates that all soccer activity be shutdown. Participants should find shelter in buildings or motor vehicles and remain there for at least 15 minutes beyond the last rumble of thunder or final bolt of lightning. There are no exceptions to this rule. Our field partners and our insurer expect this safety policy to be honored at all times.
Litter and Dogs are Consistent Offenses
Local Businessman Donates Services; Moves Goalframes Every Season
Fanwood resident Steve Spagnuolo, owner of Steve’s Towing, is once again providing his services for free to the SPFSA. As field permits are awarded each season and field configurations are then devised for players ranging in age from 4-17, various sized goal frames typically need to be shuffled from one venue to another. Steve’s has been helping the SPFSA for as long as anyone can remember and is absolutely resolute in refusing payment for the use of his flatbed trucks or his drivers’ time.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of this club. Next time you attend a game, think not only of the coaches giving of their time, but of the dads who line the fields and of the local businessman that assures that your child has a goal at which to shoot. Thanks.
